Day 25:Ready to come back to the USA This has been quite an adventure - the first half was great visiting Thailand and Laos the second half in Hanoi and Cat Ba suffered from the cold and rain -- lesson learned, January is not the time to visit Hanoi if you are looking for sunshine.
Spent the day with more walking around Hanoi. I started off with a belly flop on the sidewalk - I am surprised that it only happened once - I recovered with only sore elbows and knees. I went to the RevolutionaryMuseum. It's a good story from the mid-1800 to 1975 but poorly done with dusty, faded exhibits and newspaper clipping falling apart.

Hanoi is getting ready for Tet on Feb. 7 - the Lunar New Year when most people go "home" to spend the 3 to 7 days. This is the year of the rat.
My travel buddy, Jud, left today for Thailand and warmer points. I leave tomorrow - Jan. 31 - ready for a series of flights that will take almost 24 hours - Hanoi to Hong Kong to San Francisco to Manchester, NH. The long haul is HK to SF - 15 hours. Day 26:On the road again As the Hanoi public address system cranks up for its 7am message to the people, I've got my bags packed and I am ready to head for the airport. I am not sure what the delay (if any) will be -- there has been a huge snow storm in China and it's affecting all the airports in Asia.
Flying from Hanoi, Hong Kong, San Francisco then on to Manchester, New Hampshire on schedule. It’s good to be back in the US!
Thanks for joining me! I hope you enjoyed your virtual trip! Monte.
