Day 25:   Ready to come back to the USA

This has been quite an adventure - the first half was great visiting
Thailand and Laos the second half in Hanoi and Cat Ba suffered from the cold and rain -- lesson learned, January is not the time to visit Hanoi
if you are looking for sunshine.

Spent the day with more walking around
Hanoi. I started off with a belly flop on the sidewalk - I am surprised that it only happened once - I recovered with only sore elbows and knees. I went to the Revolutionary Museum
. It's a good story from the mid-1800 to 1975 but poorly done with dusty, faded exhibits and newspaper clipping falling apart.
Revolutionary Museum
Hanoi is getting ready for Tet on Feb. 7 - the Lunar New Year when most people go "home" to spend the 3 to 7 days. This is the year of the rat.

My travel buddy, Jud, left today for
Thailand and warmer points. I leave tomorrow - Jan. 31 - ready for a series of flights that will take almost 24 hours - Hanoi to Hong Kong to San Francisco to Manchester, NH. The long haul is HK to SF - 15 hours.

Day 26:  On the road again

As the
Hanoi public address system cranks up for its 7am message to the people, I've got my bags packed and I am ready to head for the airport. I am not sure what the delay (if any) will be -- there has been a huge snow storm in China and it's affecting all the airports in Asia
.

Flying from Hanoi, Hong Kong, San Francisco then on to Manchester, New Hampshire on schedule.

It’s good to be back in the
US!

Thanks for joining me!   I hope you enjoyed your virtual trip!
Monte.
